What does a life filled with faith look like?
What does discipleship mean?
Who or what is our faith in?
When it comes to matters of life and faith it's often more helpful to ask the right questions than to have all the pat and easy answers.
Tell me about your God. Everybody has a "god" or "gods." Martin Luther said that our god is that in which we put our ultimate trust. In whom or what do you place your highest trust?
In Jesus, God's anointed (that's what the title "Christ" means- it's not his last name), God reveals Godself, God's desires, and God's ultimate nature. Being Jesus' disciple means following his lead, living our lives seeking what he desires- loving God and loving our neighbor as much as God does. Discipleship involves discipline.
And at the heart of faith are relationships- with God, family, friends, neighbors, strangers, and all of creation.
How shall we live, what shall we give, whom shall we trust? Discipleship seeks to answer these, and the answer begins and finds it's completion in God.
