Leadership  (The Church Council)

Community Service
The Community Service Committee works to coordinate and support ongoing congregational ministries within the community.  Responsibilities of this committee include handling all financial or volunteer requests from the community, heightening the congregation's awareness of issues in our community that directly effect those in need within our society, maintaining and supporting community programs, and publicizing support of community service programs and requests.

Education
The Education committee is responsible to provide programs which deepen discipleship in the Christian faith for all ages.  Responsibilities include overseeing the Sunday School, Nursery, Adult Education, VBS, and our confirmation program, maintaining and updating the church library, recruiting, training and supporting persons for programs, developing and maintaining a yearly calendar of events and programs, setting up additional courses, programs, and events that deal directly with Christian Education, promoting ELCA and Region 1 educational offerings, and maintaining accurate records of enrollment and attendance.

Evangelism/Outreach   
The Evangelism Committee works to develop and carry out a program of Christian evangelical outreach into the community by supporting and encouraging each member of this congregation in their call to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.  Responsibilities include yearly developing goals to reach both inactive members of this congregation and individuals in our community with no church family, developing and maintaining a system of welcoming and visiting new members and visitors, fostering a climate of evangelism that encourages congregation members to informally and spontaneously share their faith in Christ with one another and with other individuals whom they come in contact with, emphasizing and encouraging evangelism programs in that through the ministries  of this congregation and suggesting projects for such organizations, emphasizing child and youth programs both in participation and outreach, and studying and adopting or adapting evangelism programs an suggestions from the Synod and National Church Office.

Facilities
The Facilities Committee oversees the physical church plant, providing for routine maintenance and repair of  congregational property, so as to support the ministry of the congregation.  Responsibilities include setting up a schedule for upkeep and matenance of grounds and landscaping by suggesting employment and work parties, carrying out repairs, painting, and general maintenance of buildings by setting work parties, making suggestions and obtainging cost estimates for areas needing additional work that canot be accomplished by the work parties, developing and implementing long-range goals for property and building use, providing for maintenance and repairs of office and building equipment, and preparing and maintainging a yearly assets/equipment inventory.

Financial Management
The Financial Management Committee works to oversee and steward the funds of the congregation; to be responsible for the reporting the financial condition to the congregation; and to prepare the annual congregational budget. Responsibilities f the Financial Management Committee include securing a financial secretary, securing a treasurer, sercuring a bookkeeper, keeping safe all legal and important documents, maintaining and examining all insurance policies, and recieving annual budget requests from committees, and developing a proposed budget and submiting to the council.

Parish Relations
The Parish Relations Commitee works to develop and carry out a program of Christian caring and mutual support within this congregation.  Responsibilities include developing and implementing ways to inform and enlist all members in the various ministries of this congregation, developing and implementing ways to communicate information from various church bodies to the congregation at large, establishing and maintaining a continuing program of publicity for the congregation, developing and maintaining a program for providing transportation to church activities, developing and implementing a process for learning the needs of all parts of our congregation so that timely support can be given, and developing and implementing a program for integrating and assimilating new members as well as establishing members into the life of this congregation.

Stewardship
The Stewardhip Committee works to encourage each member of Christ the King Lutheran Church to use scriptual principles of stewardship in making decisions concerning time, talents, and treasures.  Responsibilities include developting and carrying out an annual stewardship program, updating and maintaining time and talent sheets, effectively researching and communicating the needs of the congregation to its members, coordinainging and overseeing Synod and National Stewardship programs, and overseeing memorial funds and disbursement.

Worship
The Worship Committee works with the Pastor and music staff to oversee and support the worship life of the Congregation and to encourage the devotional life of congregational members.  Responsibilities include securing, scheduling and training people to provide worship support, securing and supporting the choirs and worship teams , plus special music, purchasing and arranging festival decorations, displayind visual communication dealing to worship, updating and purchasing worship forms, worship equipment, vestaments, and parements as needed, and yearly evaluate efectiveness of worship services.

Youth
The Youth Committee works with the Youth Ministries Director to develop and carry out a youth program which stimulates growth in Christian faith, and strengthens fellowship youth both spiritually and socially.  Responsibilities include developing and supervising the Sr. High Youth Group (9th-12th grades), maintaining and supporting the Confirmation program (7th and 8th grades), and supervising and supporting activities for younger children and their families within this congregation.

Global Missions
The Global Missions Committee works to foster and nurture ongoing relationships with our mission partners around the world, including our sister congregations in Russia and Etheopia, an informal relationship with a sister congregation in Peru, and outreach through global partner agencies and missionaries.
