The Transition Team continues their work helping us move forward town calling a new Pastor. They need your help and feedback and participation. Please take a few minutes to complete this survey. Update: 4/28/2012

 

We have a strong, generous congregation and we need to reflect carefully and choose a pastor that understands the Word and what this congregation wants and will support in the future. One efficient way to collect that information is through a survey. The Transition Team's task is to collect information, organize it and present it to the Council and Call Committee to be named later. Ideas, opinions, and other information can also be collected by conversations with Transition team members between services, use of the Suggestion box, or emails directly to the team members at any time.

Before next Sunday, May 6, an electronic form of the survey will be sent to everyone that we have an email address for. If there are other members in your household who attend CTK, they too are asked to complete the survey. It is available through the CTK website, or the email link can be opened more than once and can therefore be filled in by more than one member of the household. (If we do not have your email address and you would like to receive the electronic form, please let us know.) This survey is anonymous and responses will not be identified with the respondent. If you decide to complete it this way ,electronically, you have up to 35 minutes between questions to get a cup of coffee or do something else, before the survey will close automatically without saving.
Next Sunday, time will be set aside at the end of the service for you to receive a paper form of the survey, review it and complete it before you leave. There will be a second opportunity to complete it in two weeks. We ask that everyone do this. We really need to know your opinions, thoughts and ideas in order to give the Call Committee and the Council the information they need to describe what our congregation is about, where we would like to go, and what gifts our new pastor might need to help lead us.

UPDATE:  4/15/2012

 

The Transition Team has made excellent progress the past two meetings.

Staff surveys have been completed and the responses, our history, current feedback from congregation members, and the job descriptions are being reviewed to come up with suggestions for tasks, roles, and job descriptions for future staff.

Discussions included review of Pastor and Youth Director positions and how we can describe and structure those positions to increase our ability to achieve mission goals as described in the 5-year plan. We also discussed other staff roles and responsibilities and identified tasks and roles needed to support the pastor, youth programs and administration of the church activities.

Lastly, we are now at a point where we need the congregation’s help. A survey will be presented on May 6th that we are prayerfully asking each congregation member and others to complete. You will be able to comment on, give ideas, and give specific feedback on a range of questions. This will help us create a document that will reflect what our needs are for achieving our mission and goals and get a good match in the call for a new pastor.

There will electronic and paper ways to complete the survey. Details to follow. Remember that you can give input to the team at any time by contacting one of the team members by email, a note, or in person.

Why are you here at CTK Lutheran Church?

Please think about that question as we get closer to the survey and as the team formalizes a draft of recommendations to the Congregation and Council for a new Pastor and staff roles.

Latest Update 2/26/2012:

 

In light of the team’s task, the transition team has;

  • Reviewed the constitution and church’s history.
  • Went through the Ministry Site Profile (MSP) to identify and assign tasks to each team member.
  • Determined that at each meeting, time will be set aside to discuss all input received and the team will provide responses.
  • Identified a prayer partner and have started intentional prayers.

 

A team member will be available between services on March 4th to hear suggestions. Additional comments and suggestions can be made either by e-mail at TeamCtK@ctksnohomish.org or via the suggestion box found in the Narthex.

2/19/2012

The Transition Team established protocols and goals and determined their tasks. A comment box has been created and is in the Narthex. Additionally, an email address has been set up as another way of sharing your feedback or questions with us. This address is TeamCTK@ctksnohomish.org.
